James Rowbury

James joined Brooks Macdonald in 2022 and manages portfolios on behalf of a range of clients.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, James worked for Redmayne Bentley, where he headed up the firm’s research function. As chair of Redmayne Bentley’s investment committees, he was responsible for the central investment selection for the client portfolios.

James heads up our US equity research and also sits on our property research team. James is also a voting member on the Asset Selection Committee.

James joined Brooks Macdonald in 2021 and manages bespoke discretionary portfolios on behalf of a range of clients.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, James worked at EFG Harris Allday for 8 years, starting as a trainee, then as an Investment Manager and latterly an Assistant Investment Director.

James holds the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and Private Client Investment Advice and Management Certificate (PCIAM) qualification and is a Chartered Fellow of the CISI. James graduated from Nottingham Law School in 2012 with a degree in Law.

James sits on our UK direct equity research team.

James joined Brooks Macdonald in 2022 to further develop and manage our professional connections and partnerships. Working closely with Alex Charalambous, he also supports the broader UK Private Clients team.

Having relocated back to London from Geneva, James has spent over three years in wealth management with significant experience gained in both business development and broader financial planning for expatriates across Europe.

James is a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment (CISI) holding the Investment Advice Diploma.

Jayne joined Brooks Macdonald International in May 2014 and works within the international business development team as a Business Development Manager. Jayne’s role involves the development of new business opportunities, in particular with Guernsey-based trust companies, advisers and other corporate companies. Jayne is also involved in organising events which help to funds for local charities.

Prior to working at Brooks Macdonald International, Jayne worked at SportingBet as an HR Advisor for six years where she qualified as an Associate CIPD. Jayne also worked at the Guernsey Financial Services Commission in a similar role. Jayne holds the CISI Fundamentals of Financial Services certificate.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, she worked at Charles Stanley & Co Limited managing and advising on trusts, charities and private client investment portfolios. She has over 20 years’ experience in investment management.

Jennifer joined Brooks Macdonald in 2021 as a Business Development Manager covering the North West region. She is responsible for developing and managing new business relationships with professional intermediaries and supporting the Investment Managers in driving growth across the North West.

Prior to this, Jennifer worked at Schroders Personal Wealth as an Investment Specialist for the North West, and has also held investment roles at Wealth at Work, Quilter Cheviot and Deutsche Bank. She has over 15 years of industry experience.

Jennifer is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and holds the Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification and the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).

Joe joined Brooks Macdonald in 2022 and is an Investment Director on our Alternative Investment Market (AIM) Portfolio Service and sits on our Direct Equities research team.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, Joe worked at CS Investment Managers (formerly known as Charlotte Square Investment Managers) in Edinburgh for eight years where he was an Investment Director and head of the AIM IHT Service. Joe managed a variety of private client mandates but specialised in tax efficient AIM portfolios. He has over 10 years’ experience in financial services.

Joe attained a first-class honours degree in Management & Business Enterprise from the University of Strathclyde in 2011 and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.

John joined Brooks Macdonald as a Non-Executive Director in 2018. He is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and is a member of the Audit, Risk & Compliance and Nominations Committees.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, John was the Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Wood Mackenzie, Chief Technology Officer for the BBC, and a Senior Vice President of International Engineering at Yahoo inc. He has also held a number of senior positions at Microsoft Corp. (1993 – 2004).

John is a Non-Executive Director of National Grid ESO and Intercede Group plc.

John joined Brooks Macdonald in 2011 and manages portfolios for charities, private clients, trusts, and pensions.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, John worked at Clarke Willmott LLP for 16 years where he was involved in the set-up of their private client investment team. Prior to that John also worked at Lloyds Bank, Laing & Cruickshank and Neilson Cobbold during his 30 years of experience in investment management.

John is a Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Chartered Wealth Manager and is a Fellow of the CISI.

John is involved in a number of charities, including advising the Finance Committee of a large Hospice Charity in his spare time.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, Jon worked in business development roles at Zurich, Prudential, and LV, as well as a strategic role at Aegon. He has over 22 years’ experience working with professional advisers and intermediaries.

He has experience managing intermediary client relationships across the full range of investment products, in both domestic and international markets. Kristian has over 15 years’ experience in financial services.

Lindsay joined Brooks Macdonald in 2014 and oversees our business development strategy in Africa, with a focus on Southern and Eastern Africa.

Prior to joining Brooks Macdonald, Lindsay worked at the Ermitage Group as Executive Director – Business Development, Standard Bank Offshore Group as ExCo/Board member & Managing Director of Private Client Services and previously at Standard Bank in Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town. He has extensive knowledge of markets in Southern Africa, Europe and the USA, as well as a strong track record of developing and retaining relationships with institutions, professional advisors and private clients internationally. Lindsay has over 35 years' experience in financial services.

Lindsay is a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers in South Africa (CAIB (SA)) and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). He is approved as a Key Individual and Representative by the South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA).
