Brooks Macdonald employees pedal their way to more than £23,000 for charity

The charities were nominated by Brooks Macdonald employees and selected through a company-wide vote. Great Ormond Street Hospital, established in 1852, is a world-renowned centre for paediatric healthcare. The Wave Project, based in Cornwall, utilises surf therapy to support the mental and physical well-being of young people.

Over four days, the 16 riders travelled around the whole island, conquering challenging terrains and steep inclines. Participants had the option to choose between a 'standard' or an 'elite' route, catering to varying levels of cycling experience.

Sam Durnell, Investment Director at Brooks Macdonald and one of the cyclists said:
“Brooks Macdonald has always shown a real passion for fundraising, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to raise such a large sum for these important causes.

“It was a fantastic four-day ride through Mallorca, although some of the inclines were certainly challenging. The hundreds of kilometres training in the run up to the event paid off and we were able to power through together!”

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who generously donated”.

Employee-driven fundraising initiatives like this one are at the heart of Brooks Macdonald’s approach to corporate responsibility and its conviction that businesses have a crucial role to play in helping make communities better.
